Description

Adult Power Skating 2.0, Shooting & Puck Handling Edmonton

This six-week program combines Power Skating 2.0 with Shooting & Puck Handling. Each 90-minute session includes 45 minutes of power skating followed by 45 minutes of puck handling and shooting instruction.

The Power Skating 2.0 portion is designed for players who have already built a solid skating foundation and are ready to develop their skills with more speed and intensity. The Shooting & Puck Handling portion focuses on establishing a solid, foundational understanding of controlling the puck and shooting effectively.

Prerequisites

This program is best suited for players who can already do most of the following:

  • Glide comfortably in a solid hockey stance without feeling off balance
  • Generate a full or nearly full forward stride while staying balanced on the power leg
  • Execute moderate tight turns and get onto the outside edge
  • Perform forward crossovers with control
  • Skate backwards with basic control
  • Pivot from forward to backward and backward to forward without completely losing momentum
  • Skate comfortably with the puck around cones

If several of these skills still feel inconsistent or require a lot of concentration, repeating Power Skating 1.0 is often the better choice.
