Adult Learn to Play
Our beginner hockey program is guided by experienced coaches and focuses on building a strong foundation. No skating background is required. The program starts with skating fundamentals and builds step-by-step toward full hockey gameplay. The final three sessions are real games played with your new teammates against other beginner teams.
The registration fee is $479 for players and $379 for goalies, which includes:
- Gear orientation at United Cycle
- 11 x 75-minute on-ice sessions
- Your own team jersey & socks
- Wrap-up social event
After the program, you can join a team within SOC’s CCRHL division to play against other beginner teams who’ve completed the same journey as you!
I moved to Canada a year ago and started watching hockey before I even arrived—getting into the Edmonton way of life. I planned to learn to skate in a year and play hockey in two. Eight months in, I’m already out there—maybe not McDavid yet, but definitely trying!
