Code of Conduct
Shinny of Champions – Code of Conduct
Shinny of Champions (SOC) is built on fun, fair, and inclusive hockey. We welcome players of
all skill levels and expect everyone to respect their teammates, opponents, referees, and
organizers. Our goal is to create a positive hockey environment where everyone can enjoy the
game and develop their skills.
1. Have Fun!
● This is a recreational league—enjoy the game and play with a positive attitude.
● Encourage both teammates and opponents. A great atmosphere makes the game better
for everyone.
2. Play Fair
● Respect the rules of the game and the decisions of referees or organizers.
● No intentional fouls, tripping, or reckless play—safety comes first.
● If you’re unsure about a rule, ask for clarification rather than argue.
3. Respect Everyone
● Treat players, referees, organizers, and spectators with respect.
● No excessive trash-talking, taunting, or unsportsmanlike behavior.
● Be mindful of different skill levels—support newer players instead of dominating the
game.
4. Zero Tolerance for Bullying
● Bullying, harassment, or discrimination of any kind will not be tolerated.
● This includes verbal, physical, or online behavior that is disrespectful or harmful.
● If you witness or experience bullying, report it to a league organizer immediately.
5. Be Inclusive
● SOC is for everyone, regardless of skill level, gender, or background.
● Avoid cliques and exclusionary behavior—everyone deserves a chance to play.
6. Communicate Positively
● Use constructive language when discussing plays or giving feedback.
● Avoid yelling, swearing, or aggressive gestures.
● If conflicts arise, address them calmly and respectfully.
7. Safety First
● Wear proper equipment to protect yourself and others.
● Avoid reckless plays that could cause injury.
● If someone is injured, stop play immediately and assist if needed.
8. Respect the Facility
● Clean up after yourself in the locker rooms and on the bench.
● Treat the rink, equipment, and facilities with care.
● Follow all facility rules and guidelines.
9. Alcohol and Substance Policy
● No alcohol or illegal substances before or during games.
● Players under the influence will be asked to leave and may face further consequences.
10. Consequences for Violations
● Violating this code of conduct may result in:
○ Verbal warning
○ Temporary suspension from games
○ Permanent removal from SOC for repeated or severe offenses
● League organizers have the final say on disciplinary actions.
11. Lead by Example
● Be a role model for others in the league.
● Show good sportsmanship, respect, and a love for the game.
Let’s work together to keep SOC a fun, competitive, and welcoming place for everyone!
